BCPSA 2019 ACCOMMODATION, TRANSPORTATION & PARKING
Accommodation
There are many hotels and B & Bs in Vancouver from which conference goers may choose. Consult the Tourism Vancouver website (https://www.tourismvancouver.com/places-to-stay/). Unfortunately, there is no student housing at Langara College.
For those who are also attending the annual meeting of the BC Articulation Committee, to be held on May 3rd, the BC Political Studies Association has arranged to hold 20 rooms at the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel for use on May 1st and/or May 2nd at the government rate of $159.00 per night plus taxes. The Hotel’s address is 1041 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver, BC.
Delegates wishing to take advantage of this group booking must book their room by Wednesday, April 10th, after which the rooms will be released. There is free cancellation by April 15th.
To make a booking, guests should phone the Hotel at 604-263-1555 and ask to be put through to the central registration desk. Note that the rooms are being held under the name “BC Political Science Articulation.” The confirmation number is: GFC4382. To book a room, you will be asked to provide a credit card number. To maintain your reservation, full payment must be made by April 22 by completing this attached form and returning it to Ms. Dasol Lee, the Hotel’s Sales Coordinator, as follows:
E-mail: salescoordinator@coastvancouverairport.com
Fax: 604-263-0245
Her direct line is 604-639-2412.
Transportation
There is free shuttle service between the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel and YVR Airport. To arrange pick-up, please head to the shuttle pick-up and drop off areas on Level 1 and dial *23 on a complimentary phone. Or call the Hotel at 604-263-1555.
The Hotel is a short distance from the Marine Drive Canada Line Station–a 5-minute bus ride or 15-minute walk. Langara College can be reached from the Marine Drive Station by taking the north-bound train (destination “Waterfront Station”) one stop and alighting at the Langara-49th Avenue Station, then walking about 3 blocks east on West 49th Avenue. For transit information, consult the TransLink website.
Parking on Campus
Please note that parking at Langara College is limited during the week of the Conference owing to extensive construction now under way. For this reason, delegates are strongly urged to travel by public transit or taxi. Parking on campus is currently restricted to the lots on the east side of campus, accessible from Ontario Street, with overflow parking available underground. Parking is free during this period of disruption.

Note that Conference registration will take place in the Employee Lounge, located south of the Cafeteria on the main floor of A Building.
